The New England Small Farm Institute

The New England Small Farm Institute’s Small Farm Library is one of the most comprehensive collections in the U.S. focusing specifically on small-scale farming and sustainable agriculture. The Small Farm Library collection is comprised of more than 5000 items, including books, periodicals, and documents, as well as extensive video and microfiche collections. An online card catalog and a scanned virtual library are under development. The Small Farm Library is open to the public from 10am to 5pm Tuesday through Friday and on weekends and evenings by appointment. Please call (413) 323-4531 to verify availability for the day you plan to visit. Anyone may visit the library, browse the collection, and receive a short research consultation (up to 1 hour); however, only library members can borrow materials. Annual memberships are just $10.
