Effective Leasing Strategies for New York’s Grasslands

“Effective Leasing Strategies for New York’s Grasslands” will benefit New York farmers and landowners who are interested in leasing land for grazing operations.  The Project Team will create new tools and strategies for developing effective and sustainable leases with landowners in New York State.  The Team will host four field days across the state addressing leasing of grasslands and grazing infrastructure.  From a series of interviews and surveys they will then develop and publish a guide or handbook for leasing grasslands in New York, including sample leases.  In addition they will be presenting webinars for extension and agency personnel on the guide, lessons learned, and how technical support providers can support leasing of grazing lands.
